Lunch in Huittinen

Our starting point is undoubtedly the robust-looking Hullu Lenkkki factory store. Enjoy a hearty lunch there, grab some domestic sausages for later, and hit the road. At my wife’s gentle request, we’ll make a stop at Kuikko’s estate—apparently, we need to visit the dress shop and Ilona’s country store to pick up seasonal souvenirs. Other tips are also coming in; we definitely have to make a coffee stop at Mattilan Marjatila.

Coffee Break in Kokemäki

From Huittinen, we drive along charming country roads to Kokemäki, perfect for a summer cruise. During the summer, there are plenty of refreshing stop options: Ryssän Pappila’s riverside café, Moccapala’s lunch café, and a café located in a 1920s transformer building. You can also visit the Electrical Museum… If we’re traveling at a relaxed summer vacation pace, Kartano Hostel seems like a suitable place to stay. The same premises also feature Anttila’s store—something my wife will surely enjoy!

Enjoying Harjavalta

From Kokemäki, the journey continues along road number 2440, through the magnificent river valley landscapes. The trip is not long, so there’s time to venture a bit further for lunch at Restaurant Hakuninmäki, right by the Kokemäenjoki River. It’s also convenient to get takeout from there.

Ah, my wife manages to find something new again, so the Emil Cedercreutz Museum makes it onto the list. It’s located across the river, but that’s no problem on this leisurely cruise. I might also be interested in the ‘sax smith,’ the silhouette artist’s works, and the Harjula Art Home, which has a fitting motto on its door: ‘Memento vivere’ – ‘Remember to live.’

Roughly in Nakkila!

After navigating through the Arantila rapids and crossing the Kokemäenjoki River, our final destination is Verstas in Nakkila—a true paradise for cruisers! It seems that many come here with various vehicles, and on summer Thursdays, there are gatherings for enthusiasts. They advertise hearty café and restaurant offerings, which suits us perfectly! Besides the sauna world’s hot tubs, I’ll take a dip in the underground smoke sauna. There’s plenty of space for a larger group of friends.

As the evening unfolds in the summer terrace atmosphere, you can rest either across the street at ‘Konttori’ or at the Verstas Hotel, located in the grounds of Villilän Kartano. As a surprise for my wife, I’ll book the Kartano breakfast. The ‘Happy Wife – Happy Life’ travel plan is complete!
