Our starting point is Hullulenkki, a sausage-shaped factory store of the meat company Kivikylän kotipalvaamo. Enjoy a hearty lunch on the spot, grab some Finnish sausages for later, and hit the road. At my wife’s gentle request, we’ll make a stop at the Kuiko Farm—apparently, we need to visit the dress shop and Ilona’s country store to pick up seasonal souvenirs. Other tips are also coming in; we definitely have to make a coffee stop at the Mattilan Marjatila berry farm.

Coffee Break in Kokemäki
From Huittinen, we drive along charming country roads to Kokemäki, perfect for a summer cruise. During the summer, there are plenty of refreshing stop options: Ryssän Pappila’s riverside café, Moccapala’s diner-café, and a café located in a 1920s transformer building. You can also visit the Electricity Museum… If we’re traveling at a relaxed pace, Kartano Hostel is a perfect place to stay. The same premises also feature Anttila’s store—something my wife will surely enjoy

Enjoying Harjavalta
From Kokemäki, the journey continues along road 2440, through the magnificent river valley landscapes. The journey is not long, so there’s time to venture a little further for lunch at Restaurant Hakuninmäki, right by the Kokemäenjoki River. The restaurant also offers takeout.
Of course, my wife manages to find something new again, so the Emil Cedercreutz Museum makes the list. It is located across the river, but that is not a problem on this leisurely cruise. I might also be interested in the works of the silhouette artist and the Harjula Art Home, which has a fitting motto on the door: ‘Memento vivere’ – ‘Remember to live.’
